Are you aged under 65 and living in residential aged care because of your disability support needs? Would you rather live in the community of your choice in supported independent accommodation? It may not be as difficult as you may think to explore your independent supported living options. The NDIA Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) vacancy finder helps you search for accommodation vacancies that match your needs.

You can search by building type, SDA design category, number of residents, price and more. Download your search results as a csv file to create an excel worksheet, then contact the providers who are advertising to discuss your needs. Use your excel worksheet to keep track of your enquiries.
If SDA has been included in your plan, the SDA building type and location will usually need to align with your plan.
If you need help requesting SDA in your NDIS plan, finding SDA vacancies or would like to discuss if a SDA vacancy is suitable for you, you can talk to your planner, support coordinator or local area coordinator. You should check that the dwelling meets your needs before committing to a service agreement.
If you don't already have support coordination funding in your NDIS plan you can download the letter below and have a chat about it with your LAC or planner.
